Donor journey
Discover a cause and complete a contribution.
Shiftr designed and built iDonate’s web application for donors and organizations receiving donations.
iDonate needed to make giving straightforward for first-time donors and regular contributors. The experience had to help people discover a cause, complete a contribution, and feel confident about returning to give again.
Gift Aid was an important part of the brief. It needed to fit naturally within the donation journey, with clear guidance at the right moment. Organizations receiving donations also needed their own purpose-built tools.
A donation journey depends on trust as well as transaction design. Donors need to understand where their contribution is going and what happens next. Additional Gift Aid steps could introduce uncertainty, so the interface had to explain the process without interrupting the act of giving.
Shiftr designed and built a web application with a guided path from cause discovery to contribution confirmation. Gift Aid was integrated into that flow through plain-language guidance. Distinct donor and recipient views address the different needs of people giving money and organizations managing donations.
Research shaped the core flows. Wireframes and interactive prototypes were tested with users before refinement.
